My deal with Dyl

Today in a casual conversation with Dylan I mentioned that there are a lot of things I still want to do in my life. "Like what?" he asked as if the idea that his "old" mom would have any dreams or aspirations was ridiculous.
I said the first thing that came to my mind, "Like skydiving."
Let it be known that I really had no desire to ever skydive.
"Whatever Mom, you wouldn't do it," my sweet son says.
So began the deal.
The deal is that when Dylan returns from his mission he and I will go skydiving together as a welcome home and job well done.
He asked how we would remember "the deal". We came up with the idea to put it on our blog so now everyone knows and it is forever written somewhere in cyberspace.
So it looks like I will be skydiving in 13 years. And it will probably take me that long to get the nerve up;)

Toasting in the new school year

Wow, Summer flew by, thankfully. The kids are with their dad for the summer so I am grateful that it went quickly. It was a good summer, lots of swimming, Seaworld, the beach, kids eat free at Chickfila, great friends, and even snuck in a little 4 day vacation. I think I would have to say this Summer has been one of the best ones I have had in a long time. I am grateful for the return of routine. I think I thrive on routine as much as the kids do.

I can't believe that Jonah is a Kindergartener, Cierra a 2nd grader and Dylan a 3rd grader. Time has flown by so quickly. It seems that in a blink of an eye I will be writing about them going to High School...

So here is us toasting in the new school year (and also celebrating a promotion for Ron to Staff Sgt...which is not to be overlooked)

First day of school.

Breakfast with the boys.

These are my cute and crazy boys. They never disappoint in the entertainment category of life. Their newest obsession ( and I mean it when I say obsession) is to carry backpacks EVERYWHERE. We even sleep in them. Uh huh. They stuff these backpacks (leftovers courtesy of Dylan and Cierra..and yes that is a pink Dora one for Landon) with anything and everything, but mostly their beloved blankets and leo's. A leo is any lovey thing they have. For Tyler is a ratty little cat that he hijacked from Cierra, and Landon's is a lion who's name is Leo...hence leo's. One day I couldn't find their sippy cups...which I hate...and a day later I thought to look in Ty's backpack. Low and behold there they were, curdled milk and all . He says to me, "yucky milk mommy." Yeah ya think!
I love these little boys so much. They have made life so fun and crazy. I am grateful to be their mom and see them interact with each other. They definitely have a special relationship.
So here is a picture of them at breakfast with all their gear because Heaven forbid we should leave it on the floor...there is hardly any room for their breakfast!

Leaving San Antonio

LAS VEGAS Pictures, Images and Photos
Exciting things are happening for our family. We will be moving to Nellis AFB in Nevada..right by Las Vegas. After many years of wishing and hoping and praying we have been blessed to be moving closer to family. We won't be escaping the heat in the summer but it won't be so humid. My children are going to know what the mountains are like! We can go home for the Holidays, the kids will get to see their dad, Kim and baby sister so much more and we will get to see Josh and Zach so much more! I am so excited to share St. George with them. I have so many good memories there and it is such a beautiful place. So many adventures await us! We can not wait!
