Slacker Mommy Moments

So I don'tknow if any of you have noticed, but on my blog I have links to other websites that I frequently visit. One of them is Mormon Mommy Wars. It is a fun blog about other Mormon mommies and their quips on life.
I visited the site today and read this post- http://www.mormonmommywars.com/?p=1095.
Do read. It is so funny. We all have our "slacker mommy moments". I will be the first to admit it. However, I must confess that after reading the author's list I felt a little better about some of my slacker moments. Just for fun I will list a couple of mine...and please feel free to join in.

1. Yesterday was a CRAZY BUSY day and the kids needed a bath before bed because they had played outside, but I was too tired to give them one. I handed each one a wipe and said "Go at it." And no they didn't get a bath this morning either.

2. I have to admit that on the weekends my kids only brush on Sundays before church. Sick I know, but I make sure they do a REALLY good job every other night.

3. I think I already posted this, but because the babies are so young, we didn't get them a Christmas present. Isn't that horrible? I think I can get away with it this year too;)

Ok, so I really can't think of anymore right now, but if you guys comment back with some of yours maybe that will get the ball rolling....don't want to be the only one airing my dirty laundry ;)

Jonah's version of the air guitar

Here is a video of the kids (and Ron) playing Rock Band. Jonah is doing a little air guitar and dancing around at the same time. Stay with the video...it is the wrong angle for about 15 seconds then I figure it out and fix it.

Valentine's Day Part II

So, with the day starting off so well yesterday, I was looking forward to a nice evening with my husband.
I had gone to Costco with my friend Abbey, and while we were there, Tyler was acting sick. He kind of had a glazed over look and was putting his head down on the cart handle and closing his eyes.
When we got home, I put the babies down for a nap. They slept a good two and a half hours, I had to go wake them up. When I got Ty out of his crib, he was burning up. I don't think I have ever felt one of my kids so hot. I took his temp in his little behind and it said 106. That is when I freaked out. I gave him some Motrin and then off to the ER we went. I can't even begin to tell you how much I hate going to the ER. Going there means hours and hours of waiting.
Well, to make a long story short, Tyler has an acute pneumonia. I am glad I took the poor little guy. He is doing alright. He doesn't want to eat, but they said as long as he is drinking fluids he will be ok.
So, I got to spend Valentine's with another man in my life.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Good morning. I hope everyone's Valentine's Day started as great as mine.
So, if you don't want to hear how great I think my husband is, stop reading. If you love to hear other's brag then read on...
I woke up to my sweet husband kissing my cheek like he does every morning before he goes to work. I usually grumble a "good morning" and then roll over and go back to sleep. This morning he came in with our new laptop (yay finally...thank you pell grant money) and started playing the sweetest song. He loves Jack Johnson, and I must say that I haven't really been a fan before this morning, but after hearing this new song of his called "Angel", I am a believer!! It is so sweet and so true about me!! Ha ha..those are not my words people, just ask my husband...ok so now I am being annoying. Anyway, I thought it was sweet. It was kind of like he was serenading me but through someone else, which anyone who has played Rock Band with us knows is a good thing. Poor guy is a little tone deaf.
Anyway, it started my day great and I wanted to share...ok gloat.
Have a great day my friends!!

Oh, and I added the song to my playlist for your listening enjoyment.

The boys room

Through gritted teeth I am writing these words.....I have learned not to try to keep my house clean on the weekends. Yes, after many weekends of insanity I am hanging up the "Keep your room clean on the weekend" towel. It is an evil towel. It is an impossible towel. Burn towel, burn. So, here are pictures of me letting them do their thing and knowing that I will have a lovely time on Monday cleaning it all up.

Bowling on ML King Day

Dylan seems happy with that turn!

I think the ball is a little heavy for Jonah.

Cierra taking time out to pose!

Dylan demonstrating his skills!

Awww...we love each other!

We went bowling a couple weeks ago. It was the first time the kids had ever bowled. They did pretty well, especially Dylan who managed to get a higher score than his mother.

My Million Dollar Idea

The babies have a very special gift of hiding sippie cups and remotes. Countless times during the day I am in search of these things. I enlist the help of Dyl, Cierra and Jonah and they usually find them pretty quick. Yesterday, however, all day I could not find the cable remote for my bedroom. I looked high and low and in every hiding spot that I know of. It vanished. Then today as I am doing laundry, low and behold the remote is mixed in with the laundry. What the heck?
And this morning I gave them each a sippie cup of milk...within a couple minutes they are nowhere to be found. Not just one of them, but two are completely gone. I must have been looking for 20 minutes. Finally Dylan found them both in the entertainment center behind the playstation. Also the downstairs remote went missing this morning and I find it UPSTAIRS in the babies's room in their play kitchen. I swear they are doing it on purpose...so this is my idea....a tracking device for sippie cups and remotes. I swear someone else has to have thought of this too. I can't be the only on playing hide and go seek with a TV remote. Can I????
