Wild Hairs and Cotton Pickers

Ty loves dressing up! Here he is in Dylan's cowboy boots and Jonah's hat.

On our "trip". I think he looks so cute asleep.

Landon...spitting image of his dad.

The kids making a wish at a fountain in San Marcus.

A bridge....seriously they were really excited about it.

Jonah Boy the cotton picker.

Jonah and a fellow cotton picker...looking cool with a bandana...wish I'd thought of that. And notice that while Jonah has a ladies hat...the other kid had a Japanese rice picking hat...neither one quite authentic;)

During the skit..picking his cotton...he was very diligent;)

So a quick run down of events in our FANTASTIC life;)

1. We are kind of dorks and decided one day that we needed a mini vacation...so we drove to San Marcus...which is about oh, 45 minutes away. Yeah, that was our wild hair...a 45 minute drive. They have a bunch of outlet stores. We looked in maybe four stores and decided it was way to crowded and the stroller hardly fit in the aisles so we went to "linner" and went home. (Dylan calls a cross between lunch and dinner-linner.)
2. So with February being Black American Appreciation Month, Jonah got to be in a skit for school. It was called, "Then and Now". He was a cotton picker and had to wear overalls and a straw hat...neither of which we own, so thanks Liz for letting us borrow the overalls. Luckily I found a (ladies) straw hat at Walmart on clearance for a buck. He did a great job picking his cotton;)

I guess that is really the highlights. I guess we aren't THAT busy....but still FANTASTIC!!

My pursuit of happiness

I have been on a pursuit of happiness. It is a heartfelt desire to enjoy my life NOW, not if this happens, or that happens.

A few months ago I was on a blog that had a link to this blog. What an amazing woman. Her and her husband were in a private plane crash last August and both suffered major burns. She just barely got out of the hospital. She now is blogging about her recovery. I love to go back into her archives and read about her family before the accident. What a beautiful family. When I am reading her posts I find myself wishing I could jump right into the picture with them. I wish I could meet her and just be around her. You can see from the pictures and tell from her words what an amazing person she is. She is definitely a woman who enjoys life and all it has to offer. She treasures being a wife and a mother.
I really hope you will check it out. This blog has inspired me and I hope it will inspire you too.

I really do believe that the secret to happiness is that there is no secret. And the cliche is true...life is what you make it.

Oh and for those of you who didn't know...Landon broke his leg a couple weeks ago. As I am writing this post he has started walking. He has a cast on and hasn't been able to move other than crawl. So this is great news!! YAY!!

P.S. I am sorry blogspot. I have been neglecting you and spending too much time with facebook;)
